Mercurey – Clos la Perriere – Monopole
Tasting note :
a superb Monopole (single ownership vineyard) in the heart of the Village. Clos la Perrière is all roundness, black fruit
and with rich silky tannins which gives it its softness.
Harvest and grape selection done by hand and transported in small boxes to the cellar.
Vinification takes place over 12 days in temperature controlled vats with a pre-fermentation cold maceration over 3 to 5 days.
The juice is either pumped over or the cap is punched twice a day dependant on the stage of the vinification.
Ageing for 18 months: 12 in oak barrels and 6 in tank.
